This is the second century in two days;yesterday Suresh Raina scored 101(61b) against South Africa. Jayawardene finished 100 runs in 64 balls including 10 fours and 4 sixes. This is the first century by a Sri Lankan in T20 internationals.

T20 World Cup 2010:India have to Play Aganist Australia and West Indies in Super Eights

After the victory aganist SA in their group stage last T20 match, India became the first team to enter super eights. India reached super eights as group champions. According to the situation up to 3rd May India will have to play against West Indies and Australia in super eights. The third team will be known after todays match between Srilanka and Zimbawae. If Zimbawae beat Srilanka India has to play against New Zealand in super eights, else against Srilanka with the case that New Zealand beat Zimbawae.

If West Indies doesn't qualify from super eights India have to play against England in super eights. Also if Australia doesn't qualify for the super eights, India has to play against Bangladeesh in super eights. But both of things have low propability of happen.

In this World Cup, the super eights are decided based on seeding. The super eight group is based on following criteria: if two teams from a group, for example Pakistan and Australia from group A qualifies for the super eights, Pakistan will go to Group E and Australia will go to group F even if Australia will be the group champions. This is because Pakistan has got good seeding than Australia.

The A1, B2, C1, D2 will be group E and A2, B1, C2, D1 will be group F based on seeding of the qualified teams.

According to the match up to this point the expected groups will be like this:

Group E: Pakistan, South Africa, England

Group F: Australia, India, West Indies

The fourth team will be decided based on todays play between Srilanka and Zimbawae. If Zimbawae beat Srilanka, Zimbawae goes to group E, else Srilanka will go to Group F with the fact that New Zealand has to beat Zimbawae.

T20 world Cup : India vs South Africa Match Review

India played their second match in T20 world cup against South Africa on 2nd may. The match witnessed first century by an Indian player in an international T20 match.

The match started with the wicket of Murali Vijay in the first over. Dinesh Karthik had opened with Murali Vijay in this match. Initially the pitch looks helpful for bowlers and all the Indian batsmans struggled to get runs. India was 30/2 after 5 overs. But when Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh joined together the match changed. Both of them were attacking the bowling and getting runs quickly. Both took some time to settle down but once they settled both of them were playing there shorts easily.

South Africa has included three fast bowlers plus Kallis and Albie Morkel they can also bowl quick and Van Der Merwe as the spinning option. But India has included two fast bowlers and three spineers. South African spinner had Merwe bowled only one over and gone for so many runs. By seeing that Dhoni could be thinking about his choice of including three spinners was right.

Dhoni continued his form from the previous match against Afganistan scoring 15 runs from 6 balls. Yuvraj Singh scored 37 runs from 31 balls. But the match winning innings of Suresh Raina 101(60balls) helped India to reach 186/5.

In the powerplay overs Dhoni has given most of overs to spinners. Initially they weren't gone for too many runs. SA lost the wicket of Bosman in Pathan's first over. Then both Smith and Kallis were scoring 6 runs per over upto 10th over. After that both of them started to score runs quickly and Indian spinners were hammered around.

But eventually they were able to score only 172/5 with Kallis scoring 71(51b). It was Nehra who has kept SA quiet in the final overs, eventually finishing 27/1 in his 4 overs. India's all the spin bowlers had gone for plenty of runs. SA tried to victory in the final overs with De Villers scoring 31 runs in 15 balls. But eventually India wins by 14 runs, thanks to that hundread from Suresh Raina and good bowling from Nehra.

Suresh Raina was the Man of the Match for his 101 runs from just 60 balls.

India's Chances in T20 World Cup 2010

India is going to take on Afganistan on May 1st. I will discuss here chances on India in World Cup.

India hasn't played any practise matches in WestIndies. Also India hasn't got a good record in WestIndies. India was gone out in the first round of ICC 50 over world cup 2007 which was taken place on WestIndies. Also when India toured to WestIndies last time that was on 2009, some of the Indian players were struggling against short balls. I'm not sure players like Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan has improved against Short balls. During IPL they were not tested against short balls. In the previous World Cup other teams make advantage of this. That's why players like Suresh Raina doesn't performed on previous World Cup. Lets hope they have improved against short balls.

Also players like Yuvraj Singh were not in good touch. But I think Yuvraj will back to form in this World Cup. India definitely need Yuvraj Singh's performance in this World Cup, as he was the main reason for the success of India's World Cup 2007 held in South Africa.

The lack of Sewang in this World Cup will not affect much in India's performance. Murali Vijay who was the replacement of Sewang was in good form in IPL. Murali Vijay is also a class players and he can score runs quickly also. During IPL his strike rate was above 150. Lets hope Murali Vijay will play very well for his first T20 World Cup.

Ashish Nehra and Zaheer Khan will be leading India's pace attack in West Indies. During the last tour in West Indies Ashish Nehra bowled very well against West Indies. So his performance will be the key for India. I think India will choose Praveen Kumar in addition to them for bowling option. Harbhajan Singh and Yusuf Pathan has to play a big role in this World Cup.

But i'm looking for the performance of an another player, Ravindra Jadeja. Eventhough he hasn't played the last IPL his bowling is a key for India. I'm not sure about his batting performance, but he is good bowler for T20.

Eventhough Dineesh Karthik had a good IPL, i'm not sure about his place in this World Cup. He has played very well during India's last tour to West Indies also. I suggest India to include Dineesh for all matches as he is also a very good fielder. He has also go wide range of shorts for T20. He is also not a player who is struggling against short balls.

In a T20 game only one player can change the game. So every team has a chance to win this World Cup. But i think teams like India, Pakistan and Srilanka has greater chances of winning this World Cup as they have got quality spinners.

According to my opinion Indian 11 for this world cup may include following players:Gautham Gambhir, Murali Vijay as openers, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Dhoni, Yusuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra
